Do companies usually register their slogans as trademarks?
Companies might consider registering their slogans if they heavily invest in marketing campaigns and want to protect their slogans as intellectual property. Short catchphrases or sayings can also be registered as trademarks. The same rules that apply to selecting and registering a company name also apply to slogans. Ideally, a slogan should be inherently distinctive, creative, or have developed a secondary meaning. If a saying is too generic or lacks distinctiveness, it may not be eligible for trademark protection unless it has acquired distinctiveness and association with a specific brand.
